Wood receives update on hamstring following scan results
England has confirmed that fast bowler Mark Wood has been cleared of any injury to his left hamstring but will not feature in the remainder of England’s warm-up match against the Lions’ XI.
The 35-year-old pulled up sore on the first day of the side’s only warm-up game on Thursday after having bowled eight overs.
It was then announced by England that day that he had some stiffness in his left hamstring and would go for scans, but believed that he would be fit enough to bowl on Day 3.
But following those precautionary scans, they decided not to play the Durham representative for the last day.
Wood will still continue to prepare for the First Test at Optus Stadium, which will take place on November 21.
