Perth Scorchers star Mitch Marsh has notched the second ton of the BBL|15 season.
Playing against the Hobart Hurricanes at Ninja Stadium, Marsh opened the batting for the Scorchers after they were sent in by Nathan Ellis, and it didn’t take long for the Aussie T20 skipper to make him rethink that call.
Marsh’s knock of 102 came from just 58 balls, and by the time he was dismissed on the first ball of the final over by Ellis, the Scorchers were already on 217.
After that innings, Perth made their way to 3/229, which was always going to be too much for the ‘Canes who could only muster 9/189 from their 20 overs.
Marsh was well supported throughout his innings by Aaron Hardie, who finished on 94 not out himself. The pair combined for a 164-run partnership for the third-wicket, the highest in BBL history.
Perth’s win breaks Hobart’s nine-game winning streak at home.
The Scorchers now sit third with a 3-2 record, while the Hurricanes remain second at 4-2.
