Rosehill - Race 4, No.8 - MARHOONA
Marhoona gets a significant weight drop of 3.5kg returning to set-weights conditions and meets her rivals far better at the scales after a strong last-start win. Now fitter for that run, she draws perfectly in barrier four which will allow her to settle on-speed around the tight 1200-metre circuit.
The Golden Slipper winner has clearly come back in terrific order this preparation.
With tactical speed and class on her side, she’s expected to prove far too strong and confirm her place at the top of the Coolmore market.
While she’s the clear standout, Grand Eagle is worth a mention at triple-figure odds for the Coolmore.
He may not win this, but he’s capable of running a new career peak down the straight and looks genuine overs for the Flemington feature.
Rosehill - Race 8, No.2 - LINDERMANN
Few horses are better placed than Lindermann, who lines up in the Group 2 Hill Stakes at Randwick. He’s coming off back-to-back career peaks over the mile, including a win over Sir Delius and a strong second behind star galloper Fangirl.
The step up to 1900 metres poses no issue, his previous performances over 2000m have rated well. With Nash Rawiller aboard, expect him to roll forward, control the race, and make every post a winner.
