How Abhishek has become the best T20 batsmen currently

Ravi Shastri has noted the impact that Indian batter Abhishek Sharma has had on India’s T20 side during their five-match series against Australia.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation for his country since making his international debut last season.
Having played 28 IT20s, Abhishek has scored two centuries and six 50s, which has seen him shoot up the batting rankings to be viewed as the No.1 T20 batsman by the ICC.
And he has well and truly proven he deserves that title, with the left-handed opener being the leading run scorer for both sides, scoring 140 runs across four innings.
Reflecting on his performance so far, the former Indian coach felt that Abhishek’s approach to his batting has been the main thing that has helped him at this level.
“He’s been the find,” Shastri told SENQ Breakfast.
“He strikes it at almost 200 (strike rate), he’s the No. 1 T20 batsman in the world at the moment.
“And for him, it’s a set plan. His thought process is very clear; he comes at you from the outside. He doesn’t mind chipping it down the track for the first ball of the game and looking for a six or a four.”
Shastri also made sure to praise other members of the Indian side, which included his opening partner, Shubman Gill.
“And then Shubman Gill, he’s got the calming influence. He does everything correctly with good cricket shots, so it’s a good combination,” he continued.
“Then they bat deep. I think the big difference for this T20 side is the addition of all-rounders with Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar, who can bat and bowl, and a lot of options are then created for Suryakumar Yadav (Indian captain).”
The fifth and final T20 between India and Australia will take place on Saturday at the Gabba, with the Aussies keen to tie the series.
SEN will have LIVE coverage of the match starting from 6pm AEDT with the first ball set to be bowled at 7:15pm.
