Crows star Marinoff wins AFLCA Champion Player Award
Ebony Marinoff has won the AFL Coaches Association (AFLCA) AFLW Champion Player Award for season 2024.
The Adelaide star and co-captain polled 91 votes to beat North Melbourne’s three-time winner Jasmine Garner on 79 with her Roos teammate Ash Riddell third on 77.
Brisbane’s Ally Anderson (66) and Hawthorn’s Eliza West (60) rounded out the top five.
Marinoff, who polled votes in all 11 matches, averaged 30.4 disposals (the best in the league) as well as 12.4 tackles and 6.5 clearances.
Crows coach Matthew Clarke was delighted that Marinoff was the toast of the AFLW from a coaching perspective.
“Ebony is such an important player and leader for us and very deserving of recognition for what has been an outstanding season so far,” Clarke said.
“Her consistency has been impressive, and she works extremely hard to improve herself and her teammates.
“We know that what drives Ebony most is team success and we are excited to see her continue her great form in the upcoming finals series.”
Marinoff becomes the third Crow behind Chelsea Randall and Erin Phillips to win the award.
Adelaide meets North in the Qualifying Final at Ikon Park tonight (Friday) from 7:15pm AEDT.
