Race 6 | 2. Our Little Star
Had no luck last start and should have beaten Magnardo. Meets her a little better at the weights today and is better drawn. The fave will roll over from that gate and might need to work a bit. OLS can stalk him and hopefully get clean air that she didn't get last start. If luck is there, I think she wins. Both go in quaddie.
Race 7 | 11. Gisella
She drops in grade and chased home Afterberna last start. She has been on the Syntho (home track) before and handles it fine. She will get a nice trail on the back of the speed (Magic Money/Bad Blood) and being the fit horse I think she can get the better of the fave late who is coming off a decent freshen up.
Race 8 | 2. Darts Daly
This is as bigger class drop as you see this time of year. Just went back too far due to the gate at SH and got home well where the form has been franked none more so than Boltsaver who ran well in town. Before that crossed the line with Ultra Blue who has since won in town. Gets to 1500 which I think works and today will get a lovely run from that gate. Really like him and one out in the Quad!!!
TAMWORTH
Race 5 | 4. A Pound Of Salt
Back to the mile where he was really good 2 back chasing Hovland home at WF in a tougher race. From an inside gate he wtn back last start when beaten for speed early but today might be a little more prominent but again the speed is there with Visualise / Oneology) so getting back wont be a major issue. He loves the toe into the ground and he will need an opening but I think he should get it and be hard to beat here!
Race 7 | 6. Naughty Nurse
Was really good resuming and then got back due to bad gate 2nd up, that won't be an issue today. Dranw perfectly to be close enough without having to go around too many. Stays at the 1400 which works and her 3rd up form is his best. Drying track with a little moisture works and will give this horse every chance to win this race!
Race 8 | 9. Tough Guy
No chance of being 4 wide no cover today from that gate and up to the 1200 gives him an advantage over the 2 that beat him that day. (they are also drawn horribly) Not officially 3rd up but had a 2 month break so working back into a prep works for him as well. Surface works as does this track that he loves. 1 out in the quaddie and will be very hard to hold out today.
BEAUDESERT
Race 4 | 4. Hard As Brok
This is tougher than the maiden he won over this trip at Ipswich but its obvious that needs this distance to show his best. Fave drawn inside will make the pace but with this bloke having blinkers back on he will be close enough. Little toe into the ground helps as does the stable that is going well. Fave goes into EQ as well but if he is close enough, I think this bloke can get him.
Race 6 | 2. Matawai
Didn’t handle the HT last start and I like being back on top of the ground and back to 1400. He is drawn a little awkward but if he jumps well he will be able to cross without major speed on the map. Has spun around in tougher races and in fact won one of them 2 back when stalked the leader. Couple others go in the quaddie as well but I expect.
Race 7 | 3. Difonzo
Won this trip and track last start and he strikes me as a horse heading in a nice direction. This is tougher but he ran well 3rd up last prep. CompleteMe is the only obvious speed in the race so I can see this bloke parking right on the back of the lead. Likes rain affected tracks and will be very hard to beat as I think he has the most upside in the race and will be very hard to hold out.
CANBERRA
Race 4 | 5. Opine
Was pretty good on debut in a race a smidge deeper than this. Got dragged back when not able to find a spot that day so might hopefully jump a little better today and be able to be closer. Stargazed a lot but got going late which makes me think the slight rise in trip will help. Surface a Q but if he handles it and I expect he does, his improvement will outclass these.
