“Best value play”: Gannon's best at Rosehill & Flemington (10/09)

Leading form analyst Mick Gannon from TheGreatTipOff and SENTrack & RSN has provided his best bets for the weekend of racing.
Gannon has targeted Rosehill & Flemington for his Saturday specials.
Best Bets
Rosehill: Race 8 #3 BEIWACHT ($13)
The best value play of the weekend tackles the Group 2 Run To The Rose, the key lead-up to the rich Golden Rose.
His first-up run when defeated by Raging Force and Wodeton was fantastic. Sitting 3 wide with no cover over the tight turning Rosehill circuit he was asked to do it the hard way and acquitted himself very well.
He gets a key switch this time around, drawing barrier 4, retains the services of Adam Hyeronimus.
He meets the favourite Raging Force 2kg better at the weights for the 1.95L defeat, but maps for a sweet run with one of the more positive jockeys in Sydney aboard from a low draw, whilst the favourite loses Tommy Berry and draws more awkwardly this time.
Wodeton is clear second pick in the race, the wide barrier may well be his undoing though.
More than happy to bet Beiwacht on an each-way basis.
Flemington: Race 2, No.2 - TYCOON STAR ($3)
We saw a very talented colt as a 2YO when luckless in a Blue Diamond. He then raced against the pattern of the day in a Golden Slipper before going for a break.
He was unlucky first-up but went to a complete new level second-up producing one of the best 3YO ratings of the new season.
The drop back to the 1100m down the Flemington straight looks ideal and gives him a great opportunity to impress connections before he stakes his claim for the G1 Coolmore, also down the straight.
He’s a classy colt who can solidify his position as the top 3YO sprinting seed on Saturday.
