FLEMINGTON - Race 8 No.1 - OBSERVER - Rode a hot speed fresh yet cruised away and won easily with his big weight. 2nd-up last prep you can argue strongly he goes close to winning G1 Caul Guineas with even luck. Back to set-weights. One to beat!
BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)
RANDWICK - Race 10 No.6 - ROSELYN’S STAR - Backed heavy 2nd-up but copped windburn from Sixties who had to extraordinary sectionals to beat him, he then went to Flem and won very well again in G2. Looks well placed.

FLEMINGTON - Race 7 No.5 - BIRDMAN - Tardy/ Raced tight and good return here with 60kg. To SWP suits and probably crosses the line with Ceowulf at WFA 2nd-up last prep with even luck.

Race 8 - G1 Aust Guineas - 3YO SW - 1600m
1 - 1 - OBSERVER - Rode a hot speed fresh yet cruised away and won easily with his big weight. 2nd-up last prep you can argue strongly he goes close to winning G1 Caul Guineas with even luck. Back to set-weights. One to beat!
2 - 4 - SIXTIES - Outstanding return win Vs older horses running clear fastest last 600m/ 200m of the day. Covered ground here latest and far too good, again, he recorded excellent time/ splits. Danger.
3 - 2 - PLANET RED - Way back and forced wide fresh before rushing home to beat all-bar Observer. He ran by (luckless) Observer in that Caul Guineas. Can settle closer here too. Weights are against but, has a good case!
4 - 8 - VICTORIOUS SPIRIT - Solid but no match quinella latest and meets winner worse at weights but… has upside. 1600m to suit.
5 - 6 - OFFICIATE - Again, hard to se tables turning but fitter, upside, 1600m gives him some hope here.
