“He was fired up”: No concerns about Bumrah’s availability after Gabba net session

India superstar Jasprit Bumrah is set to play in the Brisbane Test despite an injury cloud hanging over his head according to SEN Cricket’s Bharat Sundaresan.
The right-armer battled what appeared to be a groin injury in Adelaide, getting treatment from the club’s medical staff during the first innings.
While he continued on to take an impressive 4/61 in the first innings, he bowled just one of India’s 3.2 overs in the second innings at speeds well below his typical pace, causing many to question his health.
Despite appearing to look hampered in the City of Churches, Sundaresan says that Bumrah is firing on all cylinders in Brisbane after completing a firey net session with the ball at the Gabba nets on Thursday.
“He plays and he looks in great rhythm,” Sundaresan told SEN The New Ball.
“He had a net yesterday, and he started off actually bowling a couple of leg breaks. But once it was time for the serious business to start, he was delivering some serious business with the ball.
“I felt for KL Rahul, Jaiswal and whoever else had to get into the net and face Bumrah, he was fired up and the ball was coming out well, he seemed to be bowling at full pace.
“So, whatever we saw from him in that solitary over in the second innings in Adelaide (that was hampering him), we'll never know.
“But, yeah, he looks ready to go, and we will see him with the new ball at the Gabba.”
The third Test between Australia and India at the Gabba begins at 11:20 am (AEDT) and 10:20 am (AEST). Listen to every ball LIVE on SEN and the SEN app.
