Two Listed events headline a big 10-race card in Hobart on Sunday, the Ladbrokes Tasmanian Guineas and Kevin Sharkie The Inevitable Stakes.

Race 9 – 3. Durazzo
$1.60 looks perfectly reasonable about Durazzo, who has been the star of the Tassie summer to date with wins in the Newmarket and Conquering. He’s yet to win from three attempts in Hobart, but has had excuses in all of those defeats, including first-up this prep in the Goodwood. He overcame some anxious moments to prove too good last start and should be winning again with even luck.

Race 7 – 5. Daytona Diva
Trainer John Blacker is swerving the Tasmanian Guineas to run his filly in “lesser grade” a ploy that worked at the track two starts ago. Daytona Diva was no match for the likes of Mazzini and Crack the Shutters in the 3yo Trophy, but she sat outside a hot speed there and finished comfortably ahead of fourth. This season’s 3yo crop is particularly strong, and Daytona Diva can show that again here.

Race 5 – 9. The Pirate Queen
The Pirate Queen was outclassed in the 3YO Cup last month but was far from disgraced in a race where the form has proven to be red-hot. She won her maiden three starts back at big odds but was then a big run in defeat in a class 1 taken out by Georgaroni who is now a three-time winner. If she can hold a spot from the inside draw, she can run a race at good odds.
