Race 3, No.2 - Nullarbor Jane
Nullarbor Jane was full of merit last start after working hard in front through a genuine tempo.
She found herself leading on a day where it was difficult to do so, with the race run to suit the backmarkers, but she never gave in and was only worn down late by the powerful finishing Astronomix.
The pair cleared out from the rest, with another 2.2 lengths back to third, giving the form a strong look. Now deep into her campaign, the step to 1400m looks ideal and she should enjoy a much kinder run on the speed.
At around the $7.00 mark, she appeals as an excellent each-way play.
Race 10, No.4 - Watson
Watson returned to winning form in impressive fashion at the midweeks and now steps up in class, but his previous preparation suggests he has the talent to measure up.
His effort behind Tempted, Napoleonic and Wodeton reads extremely well for a race of this nature and gives him the right credentials.
Although he has drawn wide, he has the early speed to press forward under an experienced rider and should appreciate getting back onto a firmer surface.
There's still plenty of upside with this horse and he looks capable of taking another step forward.
