Champion Australian stallion Snitzel passed away in June of 2025 from age-related liver issues at 22-years-old.
Snitzel was the sire of 23 Group 1 winners and 160 Stakes winners, making him one of Australia’s greatest sires.
This year’s Magic Millions Sales marks his penultimate crop of yearlings, and he has produced an incredible sale, so far.
“He's making a statement with his progeny,” Gareth Hall said on SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
“We've only got this year and next year to come, but he's been very popular.”
Barry Bowditch, the managing director of Magic Millions, echoed that sentiment, revealing Snitzel’s incredible sale numbers prior to the start of Day 4.
“Unbelievable sale - he's had 21 sold, and he's averaging $760,000,” Bowditch revealed.
“$16 million in gross so far just for Snitzel.
“He's been an institution of Magic Millions for a long, long time, and it's fantastic to see in his second to last crop being so highly sought after.”
Snitzel has sold another three yearlings as of 3:30pm on Day 4 for an average price of $433,333.
