Monday best bets from Brown & Luke (27/10)
Campbell Brown & Cam Luke have your Monday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a look at Queanbeyan, Wangaratta & Newcastle to bring the Track family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Campbell Brown
Queanbeyan: Race 2, No.2 - SOOO CRAZYConsistent horse who will make own luck in front. No speed in this small field, should control things. Can get back into the winner’s circle.
Wangaratta: Race 2, No.3 - IBERIAN LYNXThree starts for three placings. Ran a nice second behind live last start, who subsequently was runner-up in a Group 3 Saturday to Napoleonic. Can handle a rain effected track, untried on a heavy but should win.
Newcastle: Race 3, No.6 - ZOCKETMANBolted in on debut from widest barrier. Then spelled. Trialled up well, blinkers on today. Should be too good for this Class 1.
Sam Hyland
Queanbeyan: Race 5, No.1 - HURRICANE CONIKeeps knocking on the doors and his last two in BM58’s with more depth been decent. Should be able to settle off pace and again have a chance to be right in the finish. Hasn’t always ran well at the home track but again I think you can find an excuse for at least a couple of them (too short last start!) She will run well as always and today has a big chance to get some rewards for running well!
Queanbeyan: Race 6, No.3 - WIN THE DAYClearly the classiest horse in the race on the back of a metro highway run. Back a smidge in distance should be offset by the claim and intention to go forward. Because of the little tricky gate, $2.70 is about right and I wouldn’t dive in at much shorter. In saying that, handles sting out of ground and I think is better than these and should win!
Wangaratta: Race 5, No.5 - SHEER LUNACYGets back to soft / heavy where it runs its best! Last time in slop was only a couple back in race tougher than this! Gets to a distance that works and in a smaller field won’t be far off them. I expect from that gate will be able to get to best part of track (probably middle by Race 5) and with clean air (something he doesn’t always get) he will be rattling home!
Wangaratta: Race 8, No.6 - SUB GAUGEWas good winning last start and this is no harder! The gate is but the scratching’s makes it tolerable. There is a bit of speed on paper (Tapo / Mr Asseertive / Hollerloud) so Sub Guage should be able to sit on back of it and stalk! No issues with the rise in distance and always runs well third-up!
Newcastle: Race 2, No.6 - NEWYForget the first run as he didn’t handle the heavy but was pretty decent before getting tipped out. Has trialled well and Gibbons stays on. I think the good track will be a big positive for him into his second prep and first as a gelding. Can settle right behind the speed and I think he’ll be very hard to beat.
Newcastle: Race 4, No.5 - OCEAN CHILLWas really solid winning on debut when held together over 7 Furlongs. Should get a similar run today. This is a speed map bet. It is the only leader on paper and back a little bit in distance I do like. Always tough to win two in a row after maiden win but in the right stable to continue winning start to her career.
Newcastle: Race 5, No.2 - INVINCIBLE WHIPThird-up to the 1200m works today from a really nice gate. Won’t be as far off them today as last start and never really warmed up! Took a little momentum stopper at the top of straight. Has won third-up before and Bullock goes on!
