Monday best bets from Taggart & Luke (06/04)
David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Monday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a look at Rosehill, Sandown & Muswellbrook to bring the Track family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
David Taggart
SANDOWN
Race 1, No.1 - Cyclotron
Comes out of a handy race running second in a Listed Race. Did make up steady ground on that occasion and the 1400m shouldn’t be a worry.
ROSEHILL
Race 1, No.1 - Compensation
Was heavily supported to win his maiden on debut last start and ran into a couple of handy ones including Metallic Cat. He can bounce back.
Race 3, No.10 - Hellabella
Was beaten first-up as a short priced favourite with the winner Maluku coming out and winning again. Strips fitter and she can lead all the way.
Race 5, No.9 - Akaysha
Comes out of some high class races and has never been far away from G1 class gallopers last prep. She resumes off a recent trial running second to Overpass, can win.
Cam Luke
SANDOWN
Race 2, No.3 - Venetian Choice
Was really good last prep especially breaking the maiden when belting them at Geelong. Handles the toe in the ground and has trialled up nicely suggesting the 1400m kick off is a nice idea. Her'll go forward with the favourite and be in the speed and with the rail out a little, that can be advantage here. Nice little race this but what this horse did last prep is enough to run really well here and is most certainly over the odds at $9.
Race 4, No.3 - Satirically
Comes out of a tougher race where he beat home Kilman who then ran really well Saturday. Going to need a little luck early from the gate to get across ok but normally jumps really well and that’s a big plus. Looks like a horse who is going to enjoy the 1600m. Had more than a month off after debut run into second run (albeit trial in between) but I do think the quicker turnaround works for him here today! If he gets away with it in front on hard fence, they won’t catch him!
Race 7, No.10 - Lathlain
Doesn’t run 1600m but I understand why they tried last start (again) and she had some support. She drops back to an easier grade where she won two back. DS will need to stalk Sister Shay as he always runs well second-up and controlling the race gives her a chance. He might even sit OSL and get her clean air! She handles different track conditions and back in class and trip she will have too much class here!
ROSEHILL
Race 2, No.8 - Aladdin's Girl
Resumes off a couple of nice trials where J-Mac sat on! I thought she was really good in that first prep in nice races where form has held up! Drawn really nicely here today and like the 1400m kick off. Won't do any work in the run. Toe into the ground won't be her undoing, I just don't want it heavy. Nice open race but looks like she has matured in the break and with improvement will be very hard to hold out!
Race 3, No.12 - Make Mine Moet
She was pretty good in a good race at Albury where the form out of it is decent. That was her first run in nine months so I assume that she will be fitter here today! Might try and be a little more prominent than last start with the lovely draw, would love to see her box seat following Hellabella (danger but 1200 Q). Had trialled up well prior to that run so up to the 1200m second-up works and I think she can run really well here!
Race 5, No.9 - Akaysha
This is a really good race! This girl always runs well fresh and toe into the ground not an issue in the world. Her runs last prep in good races were very good and her summer run in Sunlight was really good in a decent form race. She runs really well over 1100m and her runs last prep early at this trip she finished behind My Gladiola (in front of Inkaruna) and second-up Mahoona beat her (she beat home Beadman). All that coupled with her nice gate and speed map is good enough to beat Bev's Nine who is flying!! Cosmonova and Point and Shoot also will run well!!
Race 6, No.5 - Wrathful
Can be a little tardy out of the gates but I think Nash going on is a big advantage. Has no issue with the rain affected going and the speed (Glint of Silver, Agita, Tenderize) will be enough to help him get going late. He is going to need a smidge of luck but that’s what Nash does really well, forces luck! No Drama is the danger after being really good in Melb in a tougher race. Shorter between runs helps here and I think his map works well. I have ND in the quaddie as well but with even luck I think Wrathful gets there late!
MUSWELLBROOK
Race 5, No.3 - Captainthunderbolt
Horribly drawn on debut and ran really well on the back of a fast pace! He hit a little flat spot and then flattened right out making me think he will love 1400m! Will have a better run in transit today and that’s another plus! Hopefully race experience allows him to improve and I think that coupled up in trip will see him get it down today!
