Should the Kings start Delly from the bench when fit?

NBL expert commentator Damon Lowery thinks that the Sydney Kings should start star guard Matthew Dellavedova from the bench once he returns to fitness from an illness.
Following their exit in the play-in match last season, the King decided to make a big splash and recruited the former NBA Champion from Melbourne United.
In the 11 games he has played this season, the guard has seen a reduction in some of his stats as he currently averages 8.9 points and 5.3 assists in the 11 games compared to last season, when he was scoring 11.2 points and 7.3 assists per game.
Having missed their last game against the Illawarra Hawks due to illness, the Kings would have their second-best win of the season with a 27-point margin, which takes them into fifth place.
And this has the 2001 NBL Champion thinking that coach Brian Goorjian should play Dellavedova from the bench and have Jaylin Galloway, who started in that match, take his starting spot.
“He was injured, he didn’t play, him and Shaun Bruce missed that game,” Lowery explained on SEN's The Run Home with Joel and Fletch.
“But moving forward, I would bring him off the bench myself.
“I would start Kendric Davis and in Delly’s position, I would start Jaylin Galloway.
“And I would bring Delly in to play some quality minutes, but just to start off the bench.”
The Kings will look to extend their winning streak to five games in a row when they take on the Tasmanian JackJumpers on Sunday at MyState Bank Arena in Hobart.
But once again, they will have to do it without Dellavedova and Bruce, who are out due to illness and a calf injury, respectively.
Tip-off will take place at 2:30pm AEDT, with SEN having live coverage of the match through the SEN app from 2pm.
