SEN partners with Fight Cancer Foundation for annual Footy Colours Day
Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has partnered with Fight Cancer Foundation as an official media partner for their 2026 Footy Colours Day campaign, helping drive awareness, registrations and fundraising efforts across Australia throughout the culminating weeks of the winter footy season.
Footy Colours Day encourages Australians to wear their team colours and raise funds to support children with cancer, helping families stay together while a child undergoes cancer treatment. Through its accommodation programs, in the past year alone Fight Cancer Foundation has supported 348 people with a place to stay during treatment, providing 10,562 nights of accommodation close to hospital and helping families save an average of $6,192 in accommodation costs.
The 2026 Footy Colours Day campaign officially launches today (July 29), bringing together supporters and partners for the official Footy Colours Day Kick-Off event, ahead of the national fundraising campaign that reaches its height throughout September – coinciding with AFL and NRL footy finals.
Fight Cancer Foundation's partnership with SEN will see the campaign supported through on-air commercials, talent ambassador interviews, AFL Record exposure, social media activity and a dedicated SEN takeover on 28 August, culminating in SEN's own Footy Colours Day fundraising initiative on the final Friday of August.
Collingwood Premiership player, Jack Crisp, and Geelong Cats brothers, Max and Hunter Holmes, plus further AFL stars in Jy Simpkin, Jack Gunston and Callum Wilkie will all support the partnership as talent ambassadors, helping encourage Australians to register and take part in Footy Colours Day activities across the country.
SEN Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said his organisation was proud to support a campaign that makes a genuine difference to Australian families.
"Footy has an incredible ability to bring people together, and Footy Colours Day is a powerful example of the positive impact our game can have beyond the field.
"SEN is proud to partner with Fight Cancer Foundation and use our platforms to help grow awareness and participation in this important campaign. We encourage businesses, schools, sporting clubs and communities around the country to get involved, wear their colours and help support families navigating one of life's toughest challenges."
Fight Cancer Foundation CEO, Rod Wealands, said the campaign continued to play a vital role in supporting families when they needed it most.
"The Footy Colours Day Kick-Off marks the official launch of another year of Footy Colours Day, bringing Australians together to help keep families together during a child's cancer treatment.
"Every year, schools, workplaces, sporting clubs and communities across the country unite to support children with cancer and their families.
"Funds raised through the campaign help provide a stable, comfortable and welcoming home away from home for families who must travel long distances to access specialist treatment, easing the financial burden and ensuring they can stay together throughout treatment.
"We're incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Footy Colours Day and hope this year's campaign inspires even more Australians to wear their footy colours and help keep families together when it matters most."
