Why Snoop Dogg won't perform at Moonee Valley

Snoop Dogg performing at Moonee Valley on Grand Final eve is a no go.
Reports on Monday suggested the American rapper had been approached to make an appearance and possibly perform at the Manikato Stakes on Friday night.
Snoop is in Melbourne to perform as pre-game entertainment at the AFL Grand Final at the MCG on Saturday.
MVRC CEO Michael Browell confirmed the news on SEN Track & RSN’s Giddy Up this morning.
“It’s hard to keep a secret in this town isn’t it,” he said. “You said Snoop might have been coming out, the marketing team put their best foot forward, they had a real crack at locking in the great man.
“But unfortunately, word has come through he won’t be coming out to The Valley.
“We had positive feedback when the offer was lobbed and over the weekend.
“Yesterday morning we were confident. Disappointing the great man said he wouldn’t be coming out.”
The original plan had been for Snoop to appear at The Valley earlier in the evening before heading to a commitment in the city.
“I think he was booked in to do a DJ set at 10pm or 11pm so we pitched him coming at 7pm for a bit, the punters would have loved it,” Browell continued.
“I’ve heard from people in the last few days I haven’t heard from in years. It certainly would have had a different audience coming through.”
