The Sydney Set's Queen Of The Turf tips and preview
Run over the Randwick mile, the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf brings together the season’s leading fillies and mares under weight-for-age conditions.
History points to a competitive race — favourites have won 13 of the past 30 editions, but seven winners in the last decade have started $10 or bigger, highlighting the opportunity for value runners in the right race shape.
Barrier trends suggest a midfield draw is advantageous, with more than half of the winner in the last 20 years sjumping from gates 5–9. Recent form also holds up strongly, with 12 of the past 15 winners finishing top four at their previous start.
Tempo looks genuine with key speed influences engaged, which should suit runners capable of settling just off the speed and building through the race.
Pride Of Jenni will be ridden handle bars down, she just needs to jump cleanly to do so, Treasurethe Moment profiles to land on-speed and may look to cross Jenni if she is half slow out, these two will ensure a truly run mile.
With a solid tempo expected the race sets up for those who can hold midfield position and finish off strongly over the long Randwick straight.
