WARRNAMBOOL
Race 4 | 13. His Lady Bay
Forget the run at Geelong where she had to go back from a bad gate! That is not an issue today. It is an interesting speed map where I ain’t sold on speed on paper but there are a couple of second starters who could go forward, ether way Yendell can assess that when she jumps, I do expect her to be prominent. That being said, being back to the 1400m isn’t an issue here. Will be very hard to beat. Only Prince Magentite is the danger, no luck last start but still a few off them. Will be behind HLB and I think that’s the difference.
Race 6 | 8. Street Conqueror
Former HK horse who gets to the preferred 1200m third-up back in Australia. He was great at Werribee in a race that the form has stacked up a little already. Can stalk the speed here today and be very hard to beat!
NOWRA
Race 2 | 5. Ohtani
Won well last start at Canberra when back to the 1600m and even though this is harder the speed will help him. He will get spat out the back again but it's a small field and a couple might fight for the lead (Devine Outcast & Energetic Legend) and that means the jock can bide his time! Don't go diving in but I liked his win last start and I can see it happening again today.
Race 3 | 12. Royal Chic
I'm really hoping she is here and not at Gosford taking on one of my best! She got turned out a Listed Race where she was a long way off Autumn Boy and Sheza Alibi but was an end of prep run but gives a small idea of the view they have of her! She is drawn perfectly here to box seat with no weight! Was ok at Goulburn in a similar race where it felt she needed 1600m and she gets it today! This is easier than Gosford and she is in the market there so the $3.70 is if she runs here won’t be her SP. First Thought has trialled ok and his 2 runs last prep in Melb stack up here. He is well over the odds at $20, so will back him if RC goes to Gosford.
GOSFORD
Race 3 | 2. Vasala
Was pretty good on debut when got annoyed up front and those horses finished a long way back. I expect both race experience and the step up to the 1600m to be positives. Drawn a tad awkwardly but so is the speed so expect him to be able to cruise forward fairly easily with only Militant (can't win) a speed horse drawn better! Garrix second-up the danger, looked ok first-up hitting the line and feel the Mile will suit but from that horrible gate will be out the back and many lengths behind Vasala.
Race 4 | 1. Loving
Was not too bad in a way tough tougher first-up even though it looked a little flat on paper. Has to carry the weight but staying at the 1200m works here second-up which is how he broke his maiden last prep! Can stalk the speed of Stormfield and King Larry who hopefully cut themselves up early. Little give in the ground won’t be an issue and I think he'll be very hard to beat and I've taken the price of $3.20 as I think he'll shorten closer to the race! Vis I Do the danger with the speed on, but he will be back and storming home but Loving will be a couple lengths in front and that will the difference.
Race 7 | 5. Diva Las Vegas
Been weirdly slow out the gates both starts so fingers crossed jumps well here as she is drawn lovely to be on speed as she was when she won on debut. 1200m seems to be a nice fit for her and like her debut will be able to scramble forward. She had a long time off before that run so expect her race fitness to be improved a lot. There is a bit of speed engaged (favourite Crimson Wings is drawn wider but Matchsticks, if here will hold fence) so JM can park outside leader. Pretty open race with a few in the quad but I think this girl will run very well.
FLEMINGTON
Race 1 | 13. Thunder Hawk (Each-way)
Comes out of a nice race resuming where she finished on the back of Stage N Screen. Normally runs well second-up and 1600m is perfect! Drawn really well to do no work and the 2kg claim means she gets in with zero weight! Drier the better and will be really hard to beat, she is a great each-way play.
Race 2 | 8. Fiorenot
Finally gets to the races without Touchdown who he has chased the last couple and they belted third-last start. Drawn really well and stays at the 1800m. Good track perfect as I do think the favourite (Yes I Know) is better with a toe into the deck! I think he will enjoy Flemington and be very hard to hold out at peak fitness fourth-up.
Race 3 | 3. Steparty (Each-way)
I love this bloke back at 1400m as I contend, he doesn’t run a strong 1600m at a high class! His last two 1400m runs have been great on the back of Private Eye and Warnie (both times). He is drawn really well today and last time he drew this well in a 7 furlong race he ran third in a G1. Good track is a massive plus and he has ran well before at HQ. Persian Spirit absolutely the horse to beat and deserves the short price but I’d rather Steparty at the place of $3.50 with so many conditions that suit him!
Race 4 | 1. Future History
Has to give weight which in the past hasn’t been a winning formula in this race but he his back in from. In fairness he has actually had a decent prep in decent races and he will have no pressure up front here! Drawn well to control it and even though I think the 2800m sees him out, the soft tempo he will control makes it easy to believe he will handle it! Star Vega and Diwali both had no luck in the Pakenham Cup but also got beaten fairly easily and need to be included due to their weight advantage but I doubt they have the class of FH. Good track, nice gate and a rising star jockey has me siding with him even if past history suggests it will be hard, lucky this is Future History and it's yet to be written.

FLEMINGTON
Race 1 | 5. Leg Drive
Gave nothing else a chance last start when leading all the way and his mile record is good. This is harder than that but still is the one to beat.
Race 5 | 3. Mystic Reign
Resumes and she is ready to go especially off her last trial against Hedged. Was tipped straight out after failing in her only run last prep when clearly not right. Won her first three races and she has ability.
GOSFORD
Race 2 | 5. Charlina
Resumes and is all the rage despite only one trial under her belt which was a good one. Raced wet tracks in all of her starts last prep and it looks like she is wanting this good track. Draws good and going off her trials she can win.
ECHUCA
Race 5 | 10. Algadon Storm
Finally knocked off his maiden and despite the drift there is no reason why he can’t win this. Won on the same day as No.9 New York Scandal ran second and was over 2 seconds quicker. Draws to get the perfect run.
