2025 Perth Football League Round 2 Preview

After an action-packed opening weekend, the 2025 Perth Football League season rolls into Round 2 with clubs across the metro area hitting their stride.
With over 150 matches scheduled and early storylines beginning to emerge, footy fans can expect another thrilling round of grassroots action.
Round 1 of A Grade Men’s saw some strong early statements from contenders across the board. Kingsway opened their campaign with a solid 17-point win over Whitford, while Ocean Ridge held off University by 12 points in a tight contest. North Beach secured an 18-point away win over Trinity Aquinas, Fremantle C.B.C outclassed Scarborough by 23 points, and Curtin Uni Wesley delivered a dominant performance to defeat North Fremantle by a commanding 75 points.
Round 1 of the A Grade Women's competition delivered tight finishes and breakout performances. North Fremantle edged out Bullcreek Leeming by just one point in a thrilling contest at Gil Fraser Reserve. Wembley made a big statement with a commanding 38-point win over North Beach, while Melville got the job done at home with a 17-point win against Warnbro. Curtin Uni Wesley rounded out the weekend with an 8-point victory over University in a hard-fought battle at James Miller Oval.
All eyes this weekend are on the A Grade Women clash between Melville and Baldivis. Baldivis, one of the newest additions to A Grade Women, will be looking to make a statement after having a bye in round 1. Melville, known for their physical brand of footy, will be keen to continue where they left off after round one beating Warnbro by17 points.
