Spurs cruise to opening day win as Sunderland stun the world

Sunderland have wowed the footballing world with an impressive 3-0 victory over West Ham to kick off their return to the Premier League.
In what was a raucous Stadium of Light, the newly promoted side withstood the early pressure from West Ham, as well as creating chances of their own.
After a first half stalemate, it was Eliezer Mayneda who broke the deadlock to give Sunderland the 1-0 lead in the 61st minute.
Their second goal came only 12 minutes later, with last season’s hero Daniel Ballard heading in his side’s second and putting the Hammers in a spot of bother.
A Wilson Isidor strike was the cherry on top for what was a magical day for Sunderland, as they momentarily moved to the top of the Premier League table on Matchday 1.
The Black Cats have been tipped by many to be relegated this season. But with this result against the Hammers, those tipsters might need to think again.
Manchester City kicked off their campaign in emphatic fashion, producing a dominant 4-0 victory away from home against Wolverhampton.
