WATCH: F1 rookie suffers major high-speed crash at Brazil GP
Brazilian Formula 1 rookie Gabriel Bortoleto suffered a major crash during his home Grand Prix, walking away unharmed from a horrifying incident at Sao Paulo.

On the final lap of the Sao Paulo Sprint race, Bortoleto lost control of his Kick Sauber entering turn one, slamming into the inside wall before launching across the track and into the barriers at incredibly high speed.
Debris was thrown over the track as the car was left a wreck, however thankfully, 21-year-old Bortoleto went without injury in the violent incident.
“I’m feeling okay,” Bortoleto said post-race.
“Obviously, disappointed because I didn’t make it to Quali in my first hoe Grand Prix, and that’s a shame because I genuinely thought the car was competitive this weekend.
“Still a race to do tomorrow. Disappointed about the crash. I just want to sit in the car, drive, do my best and have some fun.”
Despite mechanics’ best efforts, Bortoleto was unable to participate in Qualifying following the incident and will start from the back of the grid tomorrow morning.
The Kick Sauber rookie was not the only driver to hit the barriers during the Sprint, with Australian Oscar Piastri faltering in the short format yet again, while Nico Hulkenberg (Kick Sauber) and Franco Colapinto (Alpine) suffered the same fate at Turn 1.
McLaren's Lando Norris will start from pole, while Piastri starts from P4 at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, tomorrow morning at 4:00am AEST.
