F1 maths: How Piastri can still become world champion

So you’re saying there’s a chance?
Will it be tough? You bet.
The disqualification of both Piastri and Lando Norris in Las Vegas last weekend actually helped the Aussie – to a degree.
It’s tighter than ever with two races and a sprint left on the calendar, so here is how things look heading into the final two weeks of the season.
Piastri is equal on points with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and 24 behind Norris. Below is how the 24-year-old could become the first Aussie world champion since Alan Jones in 1980.
Current standings:
Norris: 390
Piastri: 366
Verstappen: 366
Piastri: 366
Verstappen: 366
Results Piastri needs:
Qatar sprint race:
P1 PiastriP2 VerstappenP3 Norris
Qatar Grand Prix:
P1 PiastriP2 VerstappenP4 Norris
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
P1 PiastriP2 VerstappenP3 Norris
If the above results happen Piastri would win the title from Norris by one point with Verstappen 15 points behind..
Had the DQ in Vegas not happened, Norris would have held a 30-point lead in the title race.
Going into Qatar he is still in a commanding position – 24-points up – and can become world champion if he leads Piastri and Verstappen by 26 points by the end of the weekend.
He cannot do this in the sprint race even if he wins and the other two crash out.
Across the weekend Norris needs to outscore the other two drivers by two points.
Confused? Us too but this is the basics in some pretty wide-ranging permutations.
Given Piastri is on the same number of points as Verstappen, the four-time world champion would need the exact same results to go his way to secure his record equalling consecutive fifth.
