Iconic WA racing show Inside Running returns to SENTurf in 2026

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is delighted to announce that the iconic WA Saturday morning racing program, Inside Running, will return to SENTurf in 2026.
Racing fans across Western Australia will once again be able to hear a full preview of Saturday racing in WA from 8am to 9am AWST from Saturday 3 January.
Inside Running has been an integral part of Western Australia’s racing and punting culture, with generations having tuned in every Saturday since the mid-1970s to get their fix of form, raceday info, latest betting and - most importantly of all - winners!
In 2026, the show will be hosted by legendary WA race caller, Darren McAullay – who has been at the helm of Inside Running since 1993 - alongside SENTurf’s Rylie Morgan and expert analyst, Terry Leighton.
The show will once again be heard in its traditional timeslot of 8am Saturday, giving racing fans the perfect preview of their Saturday race day.
“Inside Running is arguably the longest running show in the history of Perth radio, and so we’re thrilled to have it return to its regular time slot on SEN from this Saturday morning,” said McAullay; the voice of WA Racing.
“I’ve been lucky enough to have hosted the program since becoming the former station’s senior race broadcaster. Whilst the line-up of exceptional form panelists has changed from time to time over the years, the format hasn’t all that much, because it has integrity and has clearly stood the test of time. That’s a rarity these days in media. Punting and how punters play is ever evolving, but one thing that hasn’t is the craft, knowledge and skill of tipping winners. As they say - winners are winners and the rest can please themselves.
“I’m really looking forward to being part of SENTurf’s Inside Running team when we return to our regular timeslot this Saturday. It’s what WA punters and racing fans have always known, and I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to have the show back,” McAullay concluded.
SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison, said the network was excited for the show to kick off in 2026.
*"We’re thrilled to bring Inside Running back to its traditional Saturday morning timeslot for WA racing fans. Darren McAullay is a legend of the sport, and alongside Rylie Morgan and Terry Leighton, this team will deliver the insights and passion that make race day special. It’s part of our commitment to providing the most comprehensive racing coverage across Western Australia." *
