KOJO (a PMY company) lights up Adelaide Oval with massive Gather Round laser show
KOJO, a specialised sports presentation and production agency, part of PMY Group, turned Adelaide Oval into a high-octane sensory experience for the 2026 AFL Gather Round.
The company delivered a narrated laser show that pushed the boundaries of pre-game entertainment before the music and lights took over the stadium.
This EnergyAustralia Laser Show is the biggest version of the event produced so far, designed to capture the energy of the four-day festival. Fans at the Adelaide vs. Carlton and Port Adelaide vs. St Kilda matches wore wristbands that synced directly to the lasers, pulling the crowd into the performance and creating a concert atmosphere across the ground.

Global expertise meets local storytelling
KOJO is the official Sport Presentation partner of the AFL for Gather Round and has held this role since the event began in 2023. For the 2026 festival, they managed game-day production and screen content across all nine matches while providing digital fan engagement and live statistics.
The agency is part of PMY Group, an Australian-headquartered, globally operating company that is a leading tech partner for sporting events and venues.
KOJO Group General Manager APAC Chantella Perera said the show used team-specific imagery to tell the story of the two clubs playing on the oval each night. Preparation for these shows required technical precision, with the KOJO team programming the equipment at Adelaide Oval during the early hours of the morning to keep the details of the show hidden from the public.
A new standard for the match day experience
The AFL is now focused on how to make the match-day experience better for fans. AFL Executive General Manager for Customer, Commercial and Technology Bec Haagsma said:
“We are always looking at ways to elevate our fan match-day experience, after the success of the laser light show last year. We are really excited to add light-up wristbands for fans to experience the show at the Adelaide Oval matches on Thursday and Sunday nights. We thank our new partner, EnergyAustralia, for their involvement in bringing this to life, to help us kick off and celebrate the end of what will be another incredible AFL Gather Round. It is sure to be a spectacle for all those at the ground and tuning in around the country.”
The 2026 Gather Round has now concluded, and the AFL will assess the fan data from the wristband engagement and the broadcast feedback from the night. The league has already seen a high level of social media engagement around the laser shows with South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas reposting the video to his LinkedIn audience.
While the next AFL matches return to a standard schedule, the technical success in Adelaide provides a template for future marquee rounds and the finals series later this year.
