He got up early, did the work and the walk and talk is back. Kane Cornes is preparing for one of the biggest sporting events to land in Adelaide as the beach volleyball world championships get underway this Friday.
Taking place in the centre of Adelaide at The Drive and Pinky Flat, more than 4,000 tonnes of sand has transformed the heart of the city for the event which will run from 14–23 November 2025.
It's the biggest beach volleyball event in Australia since the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
The best players in the world will be battling it out, come rain, hail or shine for what organisers have described as a “festival environment” with not only the beach volleyball on show but live entertainment, food and amazing hospitality opportunities.
Olympians, world champions, the stars or the future and other big names from around with world will be on show across 10 days of competition and five courts.
"This might be the biggest and best walk and talk of the year," Cornes said. "It stretches from iconic memorial drive to the central beach district.
"This is your chance to see world class Olympic medallists against the aussies in a party like atmosphere, this is bigger than the Olympics.
