Rory McIlroy’s victory at The Masters made for some intriguing reading.
The Northern Irishman’s emotional victory was full of drama, avoiding despair by defeating Justin Rose in a playoff.
According to Betfair, $46.38 million was matched in the US Masters Market while $24.27 million was matched on McIlroy.
McIlroy traded $1.16 to make the par putt on the 18th to avoid the playoff but missed. He amazingly had a very small amount traded to win The Masters at $26 when markets opened, however, his price fluctuated at high single figures for much of the week leading in to the first round.
On Thursday morning AEST, prior to the first round, his price was sitting at $8.60, with Scottie Scheffler favourite at $6.40. Rose was incredibly matched at a high of $400 and a low of around $2.20.
Throughout the Masters, five players remarkably traded at or below $3.55 with four players trading at or below $2.82.
