JLP "over the moon" with Comm Games selection

Jamie-Lee Price will make her Commonwealth Games debut after being named in the Australian Diamonds team for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Price is one of five debutants selected in the 12-player team that will travel to Scotland as Australia looks to defend the gold medal won at Birmingham 2022.
The Melbourne Mavericks will also be represented by Assistant Coach Nicole Richardson, who has been appointed as an Assistant Coach of the Australian Diamonds for the campaign, while fellow Mavericks Amy Parmenter and Jessie Grenvold have been named as two of the team's three reserves.
For Price, the selection marks a career milestone and the opportunity to represent Australia on one of netball's biggest stages.
"I am absolutely over the moon,” Price said. “This is such a special selection for me, as it is the first Commonwealth Games team I have ever been picked for.
“I can’t wait to get out there in the green and gold, play with my girls and do everyone proud.”
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will run from 23 July to 2 August, with the netball competition taking place from 25 July to 2 August at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow.
Twelve teams will compete across two pools, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals before the gold medal match.
Richardson said she was honoured to be part of the Diamonds program and thrilled to see multiple Mavericks recognised.
“I am incredibly honoured and excited to be a part of the Australian Diamonds for the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games,” Richardson said.
“To be part of the Diamonds program on the Commonwealth Games stage is a tremendous privilege, and I am looking forward to contributing to what promises to be an exciting campaign for Australian netball.
“It is also especially exciting to see Jamie-Lee Price selected to make her Commonwealth Games debut. Jamie-Lee is someone I have worked closely with throughout the season at the Melbourne Mavericks, and I have seen firsthand the commitment, professionalism and passion she brings every day.
"This opportunity is thoroughly deserved, and I know she will make a fantastic contribution to the Diamonds environment in Glasgow.
“I am also thrilled for fellow Mavericks Amy Parmenter and Jessie Grenvold, who have been named as two of the three reserves for the team.

Australia enters the tournament as the reigning Commonwealth Games gold medallist and the most successful nation in Commonwealth Games netball history, having won four gold medals.
