Mavs announce 2026 Super Netball Reserves squad
The Melbourne Mavericks are excited to unveil their squad for the 2026 Super Netball Reserves season, building on the success of their inaugural year which saw the team reach the Grand Final.
Six members of that inaugural squad return for 2026, bringing experience and continuity to a group brimming with emerging talent from across the Victorian Pathway.
The 2026 squad features a mix of returning stars and fresh faces:
  • Chloe Duke (Hawks Netball) GK/GD
  • Teal Hocking (Bendigo Strikers) GA/GS
  • Charli Hoey (Hawks Netball) GD/WD
  • Ashlea Mawer (Hawks Netball) GS/GA
  • Claudia Mawson (Melbourne University Lightning) GA/WA
  • Millie Roach (Southern Saints) GS/GA
  • Ruby Shannon (Western Warriors) C/WA
  • Charlotte Sexton (Bendigo Strikers) GK/GD
  • Eryn Stocker (Hawks Netball) WA/C
  • Mia van Wyk (Southern Saints) WD/GD

  • Amalani Fauonuku (City West Falcons)
  • Alice O'Callaghan (North East Blaze)
  • Mackenzie O'Dwyer (North East Blaze)
  • Leila Simpson (Boroondara Express)
  • Jessica Tetley (Hawks Netball)
The Reserves squad also welcomes new Melbourne Mavericks Training Partners; Charlotte Sexton, who joins after being a Melbourne Vixens Training Partner and a member of the Australian 21/U team that recently won gold at the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar, and Charli Hoey, who was elevated after an impressive 2025 season.
Highlighting the strength of the Mavs Reserves program, the team’s inaugural captain and Player of the Year, Sacha McDonald, was rewarded with her first-ever Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) contract for the 2026 season.
Mavs Assistant Coach and Head of Pathways, Nicole Richardson, said that it would be a great experience for these athletes to train alongside the Mavs’ SSN team, gaining invaluable experience in the club’s high-performance environment.
“It’s fantastic to see so many up-and-coming athletes from the Victorian Pathway keen to be part of the Mavs environment. We pride ourselves on doing things a bit differently, and this squad reflects that approach. The depth of talent here is exciting, and we can’t wait to see them develop and push for opportunities at the elite level.”
